Kathryn Burns

Kathy
Kathryn provides creative, strategic direction and leadership to the Beacon Academy Trust; developing the vision, values and key aims for the MAT with Trustees and Leaders. She balances her time between BMAT central activity and working closely with the Trust Executive securing improvement across the MAT. Through the identification of key priorities and school improvement strategies she champions collaboration to realise the BMAT vision and values; working towards the agreed goals by constantly reviewing and evaluating progress, value for money and student impact to refresh the vision. Kathryn has a wide-ranging background that includes school and corporate leadership, advisory and consultancy work locally and nationally. Most recently founding BMAT leading on establishing its’ constitution, incorporating the teaching alliance, SCITT (School Centred Initial Teacher Training) and Beacon Business Innovation Hub Free School; whilst building the central services infrastructure to support the BMAT schools and create the capacity to consolidate and grow outstanding BMAT practice to improve student progress and outcomes.

Deep Bamrah​

Deep
Deep joined Trust in June 2017 as the Finance Director. His key responsibilities include the strategic financial management and the long term financial viability of the Trust. Deep works very closely with the CEO and the Trust Executives, advising on financial matters and key strategic matters.
Deep trained and qualified as a Chartered Management Accountant (ACMA CGMA) and has worked across a range of businesses and sectors. These include health care, global logistics, asset management, online travel and public relations. He has had the opportunity to experience a wide range of commercial challenges ranging from business start-ups, mergers and takeovers.
Co-headteacher

Yvonne Andress

From April 2019 Yvonne has been appointed as co-headteacher at Beal High School. Prior to this appointment she was Vice Principal at Beal High School responsible for Progress and leading Key Stage 3, Yvonne has been a teacher at Beal High School since 1995 contributing to its journey to an OFSTED outstanding judgement in 2012. Yvonne has gained her experience through a wide range of roles including; Head of Department, Head of Year and an Assistant Principal responsible for Key Stage 4 Outcomes; contributing to the school achieving the highest ever outcomes for attainment and progress at GCSE.

 

Her broad experience has enabled her to develop a range of skills, always placing great emphasis on achievement for all and developing positive relationships between students, staff, parents/carers and the wider community. Yvonne’s priority at Beal will be to ensure every child succeeds by working with staff, students, parents/carers to provide an ambitious and personalised education within a safe, nurturing environment that ensures choice and success in the world of work.

Co-headteacher

Will Mackintosh

From September 2024 Will has been promoted to Executive Principal of the Forest Academy and Co-Head teacher at Beal High School. Prior to joining the Trust Will was a secondary headteacher in Enfield at an all through school.

He is driven by the belief that every child deserves the best education possible and has the energy and determination to ensure that becomes a reality for all students across the Trust.

Will’s flexible, curious and responsive approach to educational leadership runs parallel to his interest in the broader socio cultural landscape which expands and informs his decisions.

Will is proud of the superb student outcomes across the trust and that all of our students leave BMAT as confident individuals, ready to make a positive contribution to their communities.

Kevin Howarth

Kevin has worked for the Trust for 10 years as a Senior Leader at The Forest Academy. During this time, he has lead all aspects of the pastoral provision and was a key member of the team that secured the latest ‘Good’ Ofsted judgement in January 2023.

 

Kevin is passionate about inclusive education and ensuring that all young people are given the opportunity to fulfil their potential. Kevin has developed particular expertise in raising achievement and aspiration with vulnerable and disengaged young people. Kevin is determined to ensure that all students at BBIH will make excellent progress and go on to lead happy and fulfilled lives.

Trust & Communications Manager

Ouma Soobadoo

The fundamental aspect of Ouma’s role is to deal with all Trust associated matters. If you need any further information regarding BMAT, please do not hesitate to contact Ouma in the first instance. She works closely with the BMAT CEO, and the Trust Executive, providing managerial, administrative and clerical support to all; in liaison with the Clerk to the Trust. She leads on marketing and PR for the Trust including the development of the Trust websites ensuring our compliance and that they provide clear, succinct information

Ouma maintains utmost confidentiality as well as remaining calm under pressure at all times.

Ingrid Tully

Ingrid’s role is to provide support to Trustees and Local Governing Bodies and Committees on governance, constitutional and procedural matters, in their duties to provide support and challenge to the Executive Team. The role also involves liaising with the members of the Executive Team, Chairs of Trustees and Local Governing Bodies, arranging and managing meetings, maintaining a database of membership, and ensuring vacancies are filled in line with requirements of the constitution and maintain total confidentiality.
